Dr. Paul Roettges is Fellowship Trained in adult hip and knee reconstruction at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He is a First Coast native and a graduate of the University of Southern California. He received his medical degree from Loyola University. He went on to study Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Roettges treats hip and knee disorders, including degenerative, traumatic, infectious, and congenital. He specializes in the evaluation of painful or malfunctioning joint replacements to see if revision hip or knee surgery could improve the function and quality of life for the patient.
Dr. Roettges on the leading edge of innovation and was the first surgeon at Flagler Hospital to utilize the MAKO robotic assistance knee replacement.
Sean Powell is a Physician Assistant and has been working at Orthopaedic Associates of St. Augustine since 2013. Sean completed his Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. His focus has been on working to return his patients to an active life. Sean is a native of Florida. He has worked with many local university and high school athletic departments since returning to Florida.
Ryan Hemelt is the Director of Physical Therapy here at Orthopaedic Associates of St. Augustine since 2004. Ryan completed his Master’s degree at the University of St. Augustine in Occupational Therapy. Later, he completed a Doctorate in Physical therapy with a focus on manual therapy. He has remained dually credentialed in both Physical and Occupational therapy. Ryan has brought injury prevention programs to Flagler College and the local high schools, helping to reduce knee injuries in athletes. As Director of the Rehabilitation Department, Ryan oversees all physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, and sports medicine outreach programs.
