Physicians Extenders’ Bios

Sean is a 1997 graduate from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Anatomy. In 1999, he completed his Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. Since his graduation, Sean has practiced in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Phoenix, AZ until 2005. He has been practicing in St. Augustine, FL since moving back to his native state of Florida in 2005. He has worked with many local university and high school athletic departments since returning to Florida. His focus has been working to return his patients to an active life. Sean is a current member of many national and state PA organizations. These include the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants.

Earnest graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1984. He graduated Cum Laude and then went on to pursue Orthopaedics as a chosen career. He has worked in Orthopaedics for over 30 years and has specialized in general Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, Orthopaedic Spine and Total Joint. Earnest was part of the team coverage for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and has worked extensively with athletes as well as weekend warriors. He currently works with Dr. Volk who specializes in arthroscopic shoulder surgery.

Ashton graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2009. She then went on to gain experience in ICU, emergency room and orthopaedic health care until she finished her Master’s at the University of Florida in 2012. She joined Orthopaedic Associates of St. Augustine after obtaining her Adult Nurse Practitioner licensure and now works with Dr. Kasraeian at both our St. Augustine and St. Johns locations.

Brian became an RN in 2001 and went on to gain experience in ICU, the Emergency Department, and Interventional Radiology until he continued his education and finished his Master’s degree at South University in 2018. His credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Radford University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University. He holds a national board certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner and now works with Orthopaedic Associates of St. Augustine working with Dr. Kurtis Hort in the clinic and OR, treating disorders of the foot and ankle.
